The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won a total of 293 seats (out of 543). The BJP itself won 240 seats, falling short of the halfway mark of 273.

The INDI Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.) led by the Indian National Congress (INC) won 234 seats, with the INC winning 99 seats.
